    Condom campaign to indigenous people

28 June 2004 - VICTORIA, Australia, (UPI) -- An Australian charity says special marketing techniques are making its "snake" condom popular among Aborigines in Victoria.

Rachel Molloy, of Marie Stopes International, told the Australian Broadcasting Corp. the campaign is aimed at combating sexually transmitted diseases.

"We're actually in the process of putting together an expansion strategy at the moment," she said. "We hope to get that funded as soon as possible, but once again that will depend on what donor funding we're able to attract to support the nationwide roll out of the brand."

The "new marketing techniques" include packaging the condoms in the Aboriginal colors and using the slogan "trouser snakes are the deadliest."
