17 June 2003 - The Guardian (UK) -The days of Canberra's Aboriginal tent embassy are numbered after an arson attack on the camp over the weekend.

The fire gutted a shipping container used as an information centre. It has led to renewed government calls for the camp to be removed from the centre of Canberra.

The tent embassy, which has a shifting Aboriginal population - currently six - has stood opposite Australia's old parliament since it was set up by civil rights activists in 1972.
