    The great exhibition about Aboriginal Art & Photography

    PRESS RELEASE DREAMTIME AUSTRALIA - Berlin

    6 March 2007 - Wayne Quilliam Australia’s leading Indigenous photographer will launch one of the largest exhibitions of contemporary Indigenous images at the Art Centre Berlin Friedrichstrassein in Berlin, Germany on March 6 2007.

    Australian Ambassador Sir Ian Kemish will open the ‘DreamTime Australia’ exhibition that also includes work from traditional artists; the authoritative exhibition will empower visitors with a visual interpretation of Aboriginal mythology going back 40,000 years. Altogether, the works of 77 artists will be shown in 1,000 m2 of the commercial gallery, creating a comprehensive impression of the different art styles.

    The exhibition’s main program will feature more than 60 life size photographs by Wayne Quilliam who is rapidly becoming recognised as a visionary in the world of contemporary Indigenous art with more than 100 exhibitions and over 500 published works throughout the world.

    Wayne recently won the ‘Peoples Choice’ award at Aboriginal Art Awards, exhibited at the Sydney Opera House and Gasworks Gallery in Melbourne is working on the ‘Unearthed’ Aboriginal women’s Swimwear calendar and about to launch a new series of exhibitions exploring the human body and the earth.

    The exhibition at the Art Center Berlin is presented under the auspices of the Australian Ambassador Sir Ian Kemish and takes place in cooperation with the government organization Tourism Australia.

    Location of Exhibition: Art Center Berlin, Friedrichstraße 134 (vis-à-vis Friedrichstadtpalast)

    Opening Hours: Daily from 11a.m. to 9p.m., March 7th through the end of April

    Admission: Between 3 Euro and 6.50 Euro
